Element 116 is a Livermore-based band that plays mostly jazz and big band tunes. The band is comprised of middle- and high-school students and meets weekly during the school year.
Started in Fall 2013, the band played seven gigs in its inaugural season, including school fundraisers, the Livermore Library 10th Anniversary celebration, the Livermorium Day Celebration, and the 2014 LVJUSD Staff Kickoff Event.
The program is funded through student tuition fees and donations. Donations are used to provide scholarships for low income students.
